Whenever I give Maddie little bits of food (I know, I know – I shouldn’t but I occasionally do) she does not chew! I’m not completely sure she actually knows how to chew. I hardly ever hear her crunching her cat food. I hear Max just fine – he eats with his mouth open. So uncouth.
COMMENTERS: are your pets messy eaters? Do they nibble or do they bury their face in the food and motorboat that stuff all over the place? Max will take a couple of pieces of his food and crush them together to see which one is stronger. He eats the one that crumbles, and the still-intact piece of food goes on to the next round of food crushing. It’s really weird to watch him do that.
